It;s Father’s Day and I thought it’s only right for me to write something for the father of my children and let him know what an amazing dad he is and how grateful we are to have him as head of our family.
What makes Anthony a great dad is, first and foremost, his being there for our two adorable boys ever since they were small. I remember the look on his face the first time he gazed at our newborn Luis, how he always stayed awake to watch him and catch him smile in his sleep.
I will also never forget how he was there with me when I gave birth to our second son. Before driving me to the hospital, he cooked spaghetti at five o’ clock in the morning while I was in the shower and he held my hand the whole time inside the delivery room.
He may not realize what it means to children to receive attention from their parents and how kids spell love T-I-M-E, but he’s always loved driving them around and cuddling them before bedtime.
He’s been a very hands-on dad lately and to some it might look effortless. Not that taking care of and spending time with the kids is a burden to him, but those who have known him for a long time know how much he has sacrificed and how much of his old self he’s given up just to become a better dad.
And I know in my heart he’s just started! I see many more years of making beautiful memories as we grow together as a family and along with our boys.
To the sweetest, most thoughtful and reliable dad, our super hero, the one we can always count on, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to you. You are indeed a living proof that God works in each and every family who calls on Him and believes in Him. To God be all the glory.
