DAHILAYAN GARDENS & RESORT – One of Bukidnon’s Best Kept Secrets

I’ve lived in Bukidnon all my life and yet this enchantingly beautiful province, home of my soul, never cease to amaze me. Whether you’re feeling adventurous, romantic, or tired and simply want a place to unwind, Bukidnon will always have a perfect place for you.

One such place is Dahilayan Gardens & Resort. Situated right at the foot of Majestic Mt. Kitanglad, the resort is at 4 100 feet above sea level. This easily translates to cool temperatures all day long even when the sun is high up in the sky. But I guess this seldom happens because the sun is somewhat shy in this part of the province; it almost always hides its face behind thick layers of clouds and shrouds of mist – even in dry season. This makes Dahilayan Gardens and Resort a perfect summer destination.

FUN AND ADVENTURE

This place looks cool and tranquil but it doesn’t mean it’s boring. In fact, it has almost all of the adrenalin-packed adventures a mountain resort has to offer. After all, it’s only the home of Asia’s longest dual cable zip line. If you like the idea of flying like a bird 4 500 feet above sea level and looking down at the thick canopy of trees as the cold mist dampens your face, then this place is for you.

You can also explore the woods with your friends on an all-terrain vehicle or on horseback, swim (despite the cold), go down the giant water slide, go fishing or roast hot dogs and marshmallows with the kids around the camp fire at night. Immerse yourself in Mother Nature’s loving embrace and allow her to wash all your troubles away.

CAMPING

Families who are into outdoor adventure will love their Caribbean Pines Camp, where they can put up tents and warm themselves around a fire as they sing songs and recount wonderful memories together. Tents and sleeping bags are available for rent and campers need not worry about convenience because they can always have access to the basic comforts at home – hot and cold shower, mess hall, grilling area and kitchen. If they don’t wish to eat at the restaurant, they can go tilapia fishing and grill their catch at the grilling area.

WORLD CLASS ACCOMMODATION

If you want to make the most of your visit and experience top notch accommodation, stay in Dahilayan Gardens and Resort’s cottages. They’re just like the cozy cottages you see in fairy tales and Western films, only they’re very real and feel a lot like home.

THE VENUE

More than a perfect summer getaway and vacation destination, the resort can also be the best venue for special events like birthday parties, corporate meetings, seminars, retreats and yes, that fairy tale wedding every girl dreams of.

There is definitely more to this place than meets the eye. The resort is at Sitio Balilid, Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. If you’re flying in from Manila, it’s easier to take a flight from Manila to Cagayan de Oro City (instead of to Davao City) as Cagayan de Oro is nearer to Manolo Fortich than Davao City is. You can get a car rental or contact the resort directly for transport arrangement.
